A new codeshare makes one-ticket trips from the Caribbean to Paris-Orly possible via Martinique or Guadeloupe, with simpler connections and checked-through bags.

A Quick Background

Caribbean Airlines and Air Caraïbes have teamed up on a reciprocal codeshare that ties the Caribbean to Paris-Orly with smooth connections through Martinique (FDF) and Guadeloupe (PTP). The agreement went live for travel in early September, with Air Caraïbes selling itineraries first and Caribbean Airlines formally announcing the partnership later that month.

What Changed

Under the new setup, each airline can place its code on the other’s flights, which turns multi-segment trips into single-ticket journeys. For Caribbean Airlines customers, that means access to Paris-Orly and French Saint Martin (SFG). For Air Caraïbes travelers, Trinidad (POS), St. Lucia (SLU), and Barbados (BGI) enter the mix, among others. Bags check through, connections are protected, and the booking shows one itinerary even though different carriers operate the legs.

Where You Can Go

The fun begins in hubs like Port of Spain, then routes through FDF or PTP to Paris-Orly. It is entirely plausible to see a Caribbean Airlines ATR 72-600 on the island hop paired with an Air Caraïbes widebody to Europe, typically an Airbus A330 or A350. Same ticket, coordinated schedule, far less hassle for anyone chasing a red-eye to baguettes and brie.

Route Shuffle In Florida

While the network grows eastward, Caribbean Airlines is trimming elsewhere. The carrier will discontinue Fort Lauderdale to Jamaica service (both Kingston and Montego Bay) effective November 2, 2025, citing market conditions and a broader optimization effort. If you’re holding a reservation after that date, the airline says you’ll be accommodated or refunded through your original booking channel.

Why This Matters

Codeshares expand choices without adding aircraft or crews, which is particularly useful as demand rebounds and carriers chase reliability and cost control. In this case, Caribbean travelers gain a clean path to Paris on a single ticket, and European flyers get easier access to southern Caribbean favorites. That is a practical win for leisure and business flyers who would rather skip an extra planning layer and focus on getting to the beach or the boardroom.

Conclusion

Caribbean Airlines’ new pairing with Air Caraïbes tightens the links between Europe and the islands, trading complication for convenience. One booking covers island hops and the ocean crossing, bags ride through, and the map of reachable places gets a little wider. Even with Fort Lauderdale to Jamaica going away this fall, the strategy reads clearly as add where it counts and trim where it doesn’t. If Paris is calling, this is a straightforward way to answer.
